Dynacon Dynacon

The Board of Directors of Dynacon brings a diverse set of professional management experience to further Dynacon’s growth.

Dr Peter C. Hughes, Board Chair, Director and CEO

Dr Hughes is a Professor Emeritus of Space Systems Engineering at the Institute for Aerospace Studies and a former Professor of Management at the Rotman School of Management, both at the University of Toronto. He is also the founding Director of the Jeffrey Skoll BASc/MBA Program, a joint program between the Rotman School and the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.

Dynacon was formed in 1975 as Dynacon Associates, a partnership between Dr Hughes and Dr Dale Cherchas, to work on the dynamics and control of Canadarm for Spar Aerospace Ltd. Dr Hughes incorporated Dynacon Inc. in 1980 and acted as CEO until 2000, a position he has again held from Jan 1, 2008, to the present. In 2009, Dr Hughes obtained the Chartered Director (C.Dir.) designation from The Directors College (a joint venture of McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada).

Dr Gabriele M.T. D'Eleuterio, Director

Dr D’Eleuterio is a Professor at the Institute for Aerospace Studies, University of Toronto, where he leads the Space Robotics Group. He has worked on several Dynacon projects including the development of multi-body simulation algorithms for the Manipulator Development and Simulation Facility at the MDA Corporation (formerly Spar Aerospace Ltd.); these algorithms were used in the design of Canadarm2 for the International Space Station. His current research interests include dynamics, multi-agent systems, network robotics, and evolutionary approaches to robotic control.

He obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Toronto (Engineering Science, Aerospace) and his Master’s of Applied Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the University’s Institute for Aerospace Studies. Having previously served on Dynacon's Board, he was reappointed in 2004.

Rob Hall, Director

Rob Hall is a Vice President, Investments at GrowthWorks Capital Ltd. Rob recently joined GrowthWorks Capital and brings nine years of experience in the Canadian venture capital industry. He also has over ten years’ experience in the Canadian biotechnology industry.

Rob earned a BSc (Biochemistry) at McMaster University, an MBA at York University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Rob currently serves on the Boards of Dynacon Inc., Vivosonic Inc., Sampling Technologies Incorporated, and AIM Therapeutics Inc.

Bruce J. Gitelman, Director

Bruce Gitelman is Founder and President, Royal Bay Capital Inc., a private investment firm. Previously he was the Owner and Chairman of UFL Foods Inc., an international food ingredient manufacturing and research company. During his tenure the company was involved in a dozen startups, acquisitions and joint ventures and grew from $13 million in sales to over $130 million including subsidiaries.

Previously Mr. Gitelman was Assistant Vice President of Wood Gundy Ltd. Tokyo office. He held short term positions with: the Canadian Trade Commissioner service in New Delhi, India; Lead Analyst with the Strategic Planning Division of Agriculture Canada. At start up BIO LOGICALS Inc he created novel ideas for the design and use of man-made life forms and helped to identify new business opportunities.

Mr. Gitelman earned an MBA from the University of Western Ontario with an emphasis on international business and management of technology, and a BSc in Food Science from the University of Guelph.

Dr Glen B. Sincarsin, Director

Dr Sincarsin acted as Chief Operating Officer for Dynacon for many years, during which time he also served on Dynacon’s Board. Glen is currently Senior Vice President, Technology Development, for GEDEX Inc. in Mississauga.
